Match report Friends United recorded a huge win but missed out on promotion by 8 points.

Friends United came to last game against South Harrow knowing that a win and other result going their way were the only hope for promotion as two cancelled game in June (cancelled by council) came back to haunt them. Friends United won the toss and batted first but lost their experience opener Piyush Vanraj to superb delivery by opposition captain Jigar Parekh but then on it was one way traffic as Hilpesh Pravincumar and Ramesh Magan (32 runs) smashed ball to all parts of the ground. Other batsman contributed but main star of their batting was Hilpesh Pravincumar as he finished on 138 runs from 123 balls as Friends United finished on 295/6 in 40 overs.

In reply South Harrow tried to came out hard against Friends United bowling but Ramesh Magan took out his openers quickly and in combination with Bagoane and Dinesh Carsane reduced South Harrow to 27/6 in 12 overs. Only some late hitting by lower order enabled South Harrow to get some runs but Vivek Rameshchandra and Yogesh Nagpal finished off the game as South Harrow were bowled out for 81 in 23 overs. Friends United won the game and collected 20 points but Muktajivan’s loss against Expatriates meant they got promoted and Friends United fell short by 8 points. We would like to thank you all for your support. Friends United will be back better than this year , next season.
